1/32 Scale slot cars are produced all over the world by various companies so if you’ve got some Scalextric track in your loft and you fancy getting yourself a new set of wheels for it the choice has never been wider. Carrera, Cartrix, Fly, Ninco, SCX, and Spirit are just a few of the brand names that currently make cars suitable for use on the Scalextric track systems.

These days you can race with almost any type of car you want from modern F1 and Nascar right through to classic rally cars and even off road 4×4′s if that’s your automotive poison! You can now own pretty much whatever you want. Fancy a Ferrari 250 GTO? the last real one sold at auction for £24.7 million! The slot car version however can be yours for about £40 or how about Batman’s Tumbler Batmobile from the Dark Knight film, again a quick hunt around on the net and it’s all yours.

Here at the Slot we can’t resist our classic rally and touring cars. Take a look at this Spirit BMW 635CSI Jagermeister we picked up recently. The car didn’t come with working lights but a quick trip to Maplin for some LEDs and an hour spent with the solder kit and the night race was on!
